Over the past 20+ years, Youth’s Enthusiasm has implemented scalpable models of art creation and skill development across Janakpur and 6+ districts in the Madhesh region. To date, the organization has engaged 5,000+ participants and delivered 120+ major art interventions. Our core programs include the Janakpur Public Mural Initiative (60+ murals completed), the Mithila Applied Arts Enterprise, and the Women Artisan Development Initiative, all designed to integrate heritage with economic opportunity.

Janakpur Public Mural Initiative (Flagship Program)

This flagship program focuses on large-scale, site-specific mural development across Janakpur’s civic, educational, and heritage spaces. Each project follows a structured process:

1. Site identification and municipal coordination (with Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City)
2. Artist-led concept design rooted in Mithila iconography
3. Community participation through guided execution phases
4. Finalization and long-term visibility in public space

Murals are typically executed over 7–15 day cycles, involving teams of trained artists and local participants.

Scale & Outcomes:

● 60+ murals completed, covering schools, temples, and municipal infrastructure
● Engagement of 2,000+ participants, including students and local residents
● Creation of permanent public art assets contributing to tourism and city branding
● Continued demand from municipal bodies for new mural commissions and expansions

Mithila Applied Arts & Creative Enterprise Program (Flagship Program)

This program operates as a production and design ecosystem, enabling artists to move beyond one-time artworks into continuous creative output and income generation.

The program includes:

● Design development labs (motif adaptation, color variation, scaling)
● Material training (fabric, wood, paper, mixed media)
● Production cycles with artisan groups
● Market linkage through exhibitions, partner networks, and buyers

● Engagement of 150+ artisans, primarily from women-led groups

● Establishment of repeat production cycles for textiles and craft products

Artist Training & Professional Development

Youth’s Enthusiasm runs structured training programs throughout the year, focusing on both artistic technique and professional readiness.

Program components include:

● Foundation training (line work, composition, symbolism)
● Advanced training (mural execution, applied arts design)
● Professional orientation (portfolio development, exhibition readiness) Delivered in collaboration with Rajarshi Janak University and local institutions.

Youth Arts & School Engagement
